The Kesch region is a unique and mainly intact high-mountain area in the heart of Canton Graubünden. Visitors are amazed as they observe the geological rock layers and overlays in conjunction with the area's diverse flora and fauna.

Author's recommendation

How about a small detour with amazing views while on your way to the Grialetsch Hut?

The Flüela Schwarzhorn (3,147 m. a.s.l.) is a three-thousand-metre-high peak with simple ascent (white-red-white marked access) for which you would need to add 3 to 4 hours of walking time.  In fine weather, the view extends from the Grossglockner to Mont Blanc. From the Kesch Hut you then continue down to the Alp digl Chant where you can sample and purchse delicious products including yoghurt, mountain cheese and milk. After a slightly steep climb up the Fuorcla Pischa and a renewed descent you will reach the Es-cha Hut. There is a particularly beautiful spot in store for you on the final day of the Kesch Trek. The Lai da Palpuogna, shortly before Preda, was voted as "Switzerland's most beautiful location" during a survey taken by Swiss TV. It is often described as the "blue eye of the landscape" and Lake Palpuogna really does shimmer in various shades of blue. In autumn, the contrast with the yellow larches is especially beautiful.
