A family-friendly hike that does however require a sure footing. The descent takes in no fewer than 880 metres of altitude difference. And then of course there are the beautiful views of the deep blue waters of Lej Diavolezza and the vista that opens up to the south. From the Diavolezza mountain station - and conditions permitting - we will be crossing the Diavolezza firn field (see option A). The mountain trail takes is along the Saas Queder ridge to the Lej da Diavolezza. The trail to the lake requires your full concentration as it is often wet and in many parts slippery. Shortly before the lake, we branch off to the right and very soon we reach the Val dArlas. The Val dArlas was once covered by a glacier. There we begin the slow steady descent across the meadows of the valley's southern flank until we reach the lower Alp Bondo; we then continue along the railway track of the Rhaethian Line to the valley station of the Diavolezza cable car.
Note(s) This trail is marked as Nordic Walking Trail 1 (black). This route is also well worth taking in the opposite direction, too.
