An isolated alpine pasture, a ‘path-less’ entry and a long-abandoned path through a secluded canyon: the Alp Era only reluctantly reveals its treasures. Get ready to explore and unravel the trail secrets of the Albula valley.
From Filisur, follow the sign-posted mountain bike route to Alvaneu Bad and Surava, where the ascent to Alp Ozur begins. The easily ridable gravel road becomes steeper with increasing altitude, especially in the section after Alp Aclas. After a little more than an altitude ascent of 1,000 meters you arrive at Alp Ozur where the ascent is largely accomplished. The transfer section to Alp Era follows, where the descent begins. Initially the trail is clearly visible but then becomes hardly recognizable on the meadow. Simply follow the markings and you will shortly find yourself at the edge of the forest in front of an exceptional single trail. The trail leads smoothly through pine forest, never too steep, and always beautifully fluid with the occasional serpentine. There are two stream crossings where the trail has slid slightly, requiring you to push the bike through gravel. Finally, the path reaches Schaftobel after which it leads spectacularly down through a rocky section. The scenery is reminiscent of Val d'Uina, but the path here is much less dangerous and is additionally "decorated" with a large waterfall. Just below the rocky passage, the serpentine trail then branches off to the left towards Alvaneu Bad. The journey back to Filisur takes place on gravel and country roads.
