The tour starts at the Chur railway station. First you cycle through the historical Old town and then continue along the Plessur river in direction of Meiersboden. Here, the paved road ends and the descent starts on a forest road. Soon you reach Passugg, which is famous for its spring water. In Passugg follow the street upwards and turn right after 2 curves at point 914. Now the Polenweg begins, a forest trail, that has been built during the second world war by Polish internees. In Foppa, on 1753 m., take a left and you will soon see the Churer Joch, lying ahead in the distance. When you have finally reached it, you will be rewarded with an impres-sive panoramic view to the mountainsides of the Lenzerheide, Arosa and the Calanda. If you cycle up the short ascent behind the hut, you will be rewarded with a keen sight on the Alpine City of Chur. On the sometimes steep and at first partly rough descent trail you will reach the beautiful mountain village of Tschiertschen. From there, first follow the main road and later turn right into a singletrail through the Steinbachwald, which will tack you to Meiersboden/Araschgen and from there on the road back to Chur. Refresh yourself in the traffic free Old town in one of the many cafés/restaurants.
Note(s) If you want to shorten the tour a bit, take the Postbus in Chur (incl. mountain bike transport) to Churwalden and start the ascent to the Churer Joch from there. That way, you can save 900 meters in height of the ascent.
