Starting point of these 2 short but well worthwhile mountain bike tours is at the train station in Chur. First you cycle through the historic Old town, cross the Plessur river and ride out of the city on a marked cycling path. Soon you get into the forest. At point 729 you can either take a left and ascent to Schönegg (variant A) or you follow the forest road straight forward and bike up to Juchs. Both variants are rather short tours, offering gorgeous views on top into the surrounding mountain scenery (Calanda, Ringelspitz, Rhätikon, mountains around Flims) and the Chur Rhine valley. The alp hut at Juchs is open for snacks and drinks during the summer months. The descent from Juchs firs follows the route of the ascent. Shortly after you cross the creek/ravine of the Valparghera, on the right side branches off a single track, that can be followed as far as the restaurant Rosenhügel above of the city of Chur (if you prefer broad trails, follow the route of the ascent). At Schönegg there are 2 possibilities for the downhill, as well: Either cross the small alp and follow the narrow and technical single track on the right side, or follow the route of the ascent.
