Die Rettenbachalm erreicht man: Von der A1 entweder von der Ausfahrt Regau oder Thalgau nach Bad Ischl und auf der B 145 Richtung Bad Goisern fahren. Die Ausfahrt Bad Ischl Süd nehmen und in Richtung Zentrum fahren. Nach 800m rechts in die Rosenkranzgasse einfahren und der grünen Beschilderung "Rettenbachalm" folgen, die nach etwa 7km (zum Schluss Schotterstraße) erreicht wird. Der Berggasthof befindet sich 200m nach dem Parkplatz. Der Inhaber ist Florian Simmer.
