Hüttenwirt Andreas Perner, kann allerlei Anekdoten von Hubschrauberlandungen und inszenierten Abstürzen bei den Drehs erzählen. Auch sein Vater, Peter Perner, Inhaber des Pernerhofs (Emilies Hof), hilft tatkräftig bei den Dreharbeiten mit. Unter anderem füllte er die Materialseilbahn zur Südwandhütte mit Kameras und Scheinwerfern, da keiner außer ihm die Kiste so gut füllen kann, so die Aussagen aus Insider Kreisen.
Die Südwandhütte, am Fuße der Dachsteinsüdwände, wurde im Jahr 1924 erbaut. Die Aussicht auf die Berge des Dachsteinmassivs und die umliegenden Tauern ist beeindruckend. Zudem ist die Hütte Ausgangspunkt für sämtliche Wander- und Klettertouren im Dachsteingebiet.
