Turn-by-turn directions
The hiking trail follows a gravel road, which first leads over meadow areas and through mixed forests to the so-called "Geisterkapelle". We reach a wayside shrine and hike through the forest for a bit until we come to an asphalt road and follow it. At a self-service hut with the promising name "Dursthäuschen" we take a short break. Continue along the road for about 600 meters until the trail goes straight at the crossroads and after a few meters turns right into the forest. Through orchards we reach the Gölles factory, which can be reached via a short detour. From now on we walk continuously downhill, along meadow edges and further on an asphalt road, until we enter a forest path on the right. An idyllic section of path follows through the forest until we reach the road again and follow it to the right for about 200 meters. At the crossroads we turn right and walk uphill along the asphalt road until we see the entrance to the forest road on the left. Leisurely we pass forest edges, farms, always following the road until we reach the well-known "Hofbergstubn Wippl". The hiking trail continues to the left along the asphalt road, which we hike slightly uphill and subsequently continuously downhill. Another stop is the Buschenschank Bernhart, which has received several awards for their wines and specialties. Arrived at the bottom of the valley, we keep to the right, pass the Riegersburger Seebad and now have a few meters of uphill ahead of us. Via meadow paths we reach the main road, which we follow to the right until we reach the starting point.

Equipment
Proper backpack packing makes many things easier: Pack heavy things first. The water bottle should always be within reach in a side pocket. All the things that are often needed, such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map, belong on top. An emergency kit, including blister plasters, belongs in every rucksack and it is always advisable to dress in layers.
