To the northeast of Tragöß-Oberort, the Haringbach stream has cut its way through the calcareous conglomerate rock over the course of thousands of years, creating a narrow gorge, only a few meters wide in places, with walls rising up to 20 meters. Due to the high humidity and the lack of light, this idyllic place has a special vegetation with unique ferns and moss plants.

Starting point of the hike is the parking lot "Grüner See". From there the trail leads to Tragöß-Oberort and north along the asphalt road into the Haringgraben, from where after about 1 km the trail to the Marienklamm turns left. After a few minutes' walk through the forest, you will find the entrance to the gorge. Along the road a little further up, you can also descend into the Marienklamm via a high bridge. The narrow gorge stretches about 300 meters and has a unique population of rare and endangered plants.

Author’s recommendation

As a route variation, one also has the option of hiking over the Kamplsteig before or after the Marienklamm.

Equipment

Proper backpacking makes many things easier: Pack heavy things first. The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket. All things that are often needed, such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map, belong on top. An emergency kit including blister plasters belongs in every rucksack and it is always advisable to put on different layers of clothing.
