- Stay on marked trails and remember to close pasture fences.
- If you are a dog owner: Clarify before the hike if you have to cross a pasture. Keep your dog on a leash and make sure it stays calm. If a cow attacks, let the dog off the leash immediately. Never pick him up to defend him.

The hike takes you from Trautenfels Castle via Unterburg, past the Pfanner farm to Pürgg. On the church path No. 278 you hike to the Dachsteinblick inn and continue via the Gindl farm to Lessern. Here begins the nature trail no. 294, which leads you along the Grimmingbach back to Trautenfels Castle.
