Destination

"Altaussee"

Turn-by-turn directions

Immediately at the Agathawirt you cross the main road and follow the signs to the Halleralm. After about one kilometer you turn right into the Leislingtal. At first flat, but then steadily rising, you ride always following the forest road up towards Lupitsch, ignoring the forks. After a hairpin bend you soon come to a road that leads up from Lupitsch. There you take the direction to the left and continue riding on the forest road through a moor area in the direction of Waldgraben. At the next bend you take the second turn to the right and ride up to the Moosberg, past an old tunnel of the Altaussee salt mountain. On the hill you take the variant on the right down to the "Steinberg".

If you would choose the variant straight ahead, you would come to the abandoned gallery Bräunerberg and to the ski slope of the Sandling in the ski area Loser, where you have a beautiful view into the Loser area.

But: On the tour to Altaussee you meet the road to the Kriechbaumberg adit and after the road bend it goes steeply down to the entrance to the Steinberg show mine of the Altaussee salt mine. Continue along the road down to the next bend, here you take the shortcut straight down steeply, follow the old Salzbergstraße along to Altaussee.
