Weather changes, rapid drops in temperature, thunderstorms, wind, fog and snowfields are objective dangers and require the right behaviour on the road. Hut hosts are experienced mountain experts, they can give good tips on the weather and the route. Lack of equipment, overestimation of one's own abilities, carelessness, poor physical condition and a wrong assessment can lead to critical situations. In case of thunderstorms: Avoid summits, ridges, trees and ropes

In an emergency, please dial the following emergency numbers: No. 140 - Mountain Rescue No. 112 - Euro emergency call

They allow you to walk and drive on many of their paths. Be aware that only good cooperation will guarantee your recreational enjoyment in the future.

Donnersbachwald Village Centre

Turn-by-turn directions

From the starting point, the forest road leads up to the Vordere Mörsbachalm, where the "Mörsbachwirt" Theo invites you to stop off in his hut. From there, the road becomes flatter and the Mörsbach valley shows its most beautiful side. The Hintere Mörsbachalm can be reached by a small detour. Although there is no restaurant here, the hut is farmed and for those who want to reach the summit, a Bike & Hike Station is available here, where the bike can be parked and locked. From here, Großes Bärneck is the perfect hiking destination.

The way back runs over the Oxenalm which can be reached via a short flat section and then evenly ascending via two sharp bends to the highest point and a 10-minute descent. With the certainty that there are no more ascents ahead of you, you can enjoy the view and the "cool" culinary delights. Via the forest road along the markings, we drive back to our starting point in Donnersbachwald.
