During this tour the diversity of the Ausserland Salzkammergut region with its mountains and lakes really comes into its own. A real pleasure is the route from Bad Mitterndorf over the Salzaalm to Grundlsee. From Pichl-Kainisch it goes via Obersdorf leisurely back to Bad Mitterndorf.

Turn-by-turn directions
In the center of Bad Mitterndorf you cycle between bakery Reisinger and NKD to the north through the narrows of the Salza along. After a leisurely pedal along the asphalt road, you reach the "Kochalmbauer". After passing the barrier, you cycle further and further uphill on the gravelled forest road.
At the next large clearing you reach the "Rechenplatz", where you turn left and cycle to the highest point, past the Salzaalm, at 1,200 meters.
From now on you can enjoy the descent to the Grundlsee. Once in Gößl, you cycle along the lake to the beginning of the lake.
On side roads you cycle further in the direction of Bad Aussee (district Strassen) and further to Kainisch. From there it's a leisurely ride back along the R19 in the direction of Bad Mitterndorf.

Free parking is available at the Grimminghalle. From there you can get directly to the center of the village via the Hauptschulweg.Coordinates
