The stage starting point St. Jakob im Walde is also a flower road community and winter sports resort. The family ski mountain and the Joglland cross-country ski trail offer the best training opportunities in winter. Via Rettenegg and Ratten the tour continues to the Pretul, the second highest peak of the "Großer Jogl". The tour continues to Peter Rosegger's forest home, more precisely to St. Kathrein am Hauenstein with his favorite church. You then drive over the Alpl to the stage destination Fischbach. Fischbach is also a Flower Road community, but also a high altitude health resort and Easter bunny village.

A special service along the tour "Der große Jogl" is the luggage transport - just cycle carefree, without annoying extra luggage. While you are on the way, your luggage will be brought to your next stage destination (by 17:00 at the latest).

Author’s recommendation

Particularly worth seeing is the summit of the Pretul with the Peter-Bergner Warte and the view of the numerous impressive wind turbines in the region.

Equipment

The right bike for this tour is a mountain bike. Road bikes are not recommended.

Breakdowns can happen - but rarely at the door of a service station: a basic equipment of tools and accessories therefore never hurts! Spare tube and/or repair kit, universal wrench, air pump, brake and shift cable and a screwdriver can never hurt.

Suitable footwear, clothing in the "onion principle" and a backpack belong to the basic equipment.

Take enough to drink and eat with you - not everywhere there are refreshment stops.
