Turn-by-turn directions
The classic mountain tour to the local mountain of Bad Mitterndorf and Tauplitz initially leads through a forest area. Soon the terrain begins to get steeper and gradually the forest thins out and the trail condition changes to gravel. Over the Stribinggraben it continues to the first climbing passage, which is wire-rope secured. Especially on busy days it is called: Beware of falling rocks!
After the ascent you reach the Schartenkar. Following the path, you can gather new strength and enjoy the view of the Scharten Spitze. In succession, there are further climbing passages, scree slopes and steep tracks to cross.
Past the Prof. Schuy and the Resch Marterl and a few drops of sweat lighter you reach the Toni Adam-Dr. Obersteiner bivouac. After the bivouac it is only a few minutes walk to the summit cross.
Here you can enjoy not only the summit victory but also the wonderful 360 degree panoramic view.
Return via the same path or via the Multereck to the south side of the Grimming.
Note
Public transport

Equipment
Proper backpacking makes many things easier: pack heavy things first. The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket. All things that are often needed, such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map, belong on top. An emergency kit including blister plaster belongs in every backpack and a clothing according to the "onion system" is always recommended!Statistics
