Scenically beautiful and rather easy to moderately difficult ski tour. Long and flat approach via Steirersee and Schwarzensee via Leistalm with short counter ascents. Relatively easy ascent to the summit with several downhill options.

Turn-by-turn directions

The ski tour starts at the mountain station of the 4-seater chairlift Tauplitz at 1,656 meters above sea level and leads eastwards to the Steirerseehütten. Here there is already the first descent to the Steirersee.

Along the Steirersee it goes on and up to the Schwarzensee. Pass the Leistalm hut on the right and follow trail no. 209a in the direction of Kamphütten. After about 500 meters turn left and continue in a northeasterly direction along trail no. 277 to the summit of the Almkogel. The way back is along the ascent route.
