Turn-by-turn directions
The trail leads from the parking lot at the Rostiger Anker inn along the lakeshore past the bus stop to the old schoolhouse. From there up to the upper village of Gößl, with a view down to the village church. Through the village, past the "Annerlhof" and on to the Gasthof Veit. Then along the Konrad-Mautner-Weg and past his monument further to the Toplitzsee.
Cross the Klaus bridge over the outflow of the lake, continue to the Archduke Johann monument and via the so-called Reith path back to the starting point.

Equipment
Please be sure to wear sturdy shoes, if possible with slip protection.
Proper backpacking makes a lot of things easier:
- Pack heavy things first.
- The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket.
- All things that are often needed, such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map, belong on top.
- An emergency kit including blister plaster belongs in every backpack and a clothing according to the "onion system" is always recommended
