Turn-by-turn directions

From the parking lot in the center of the Loser Bergbahnen, turn right past the Haim ski school and then immediately right again following the signs "Wanderweg", next to the cross-country ski trail. After a flat section and past alpine huts, a short climb follows, where you arrive at the top through a small piece of forest again to an open area called "Klauseck".

Shortly after, you finally reach the Blaa alpine meadow. The large Blaa meadow is always circled in the immediate vicinity of the cross-country ski trails, and after the large intersection at the end of the Blaa meadow, you come to the Blaa Alm huts and finally reach the Blaa Alm inn.

After a pleasant stop, you can choose whether to walk along the Blaastraße to the starting point, or take the same path back via the Klauseck.

The best way to get to Altaussee is to plan with google.at/maps.  

 

Parking

There are sufficient parking spaces available at the Loser Skiarena. From there, the hiking trail towards Blaa Alm starts directly.

Equipment

Winter clothing and footwear suitable for snow.


Proper backpacking makes many things easier: pack heavy things first. The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket. All things that are often needed such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map belong on top. An emergency kit including blister plaster belongs in every backpack and a clothing according to the "onion system" is always recommended!
