Die Tour startet beim Parkplatz Kraftwerk Milders knapp 400 m über die asphaltierte Zufahrt zum Bichlhof. Ab der Abzweigung zur Milderaun Alm führt der Weg durch traumhaft verschneite Wälder, über mehrere Kehren hinauf zur Milderaunalm auf 1671m Seehöhe. Nach einer Stärkung  folgt eine rasante Rodelpartie bis zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Public transport

Mit dem Bus bis zur Haltestelle Milders Ortsmitte - von dort ca. 300m Richtung Oberbergtal, ehe die Straße Richtung Bichlhof links abzweigt.

Getting there

Durch das Stubaital taleinwärts, vorbei am Hauptort Neustift bis nach Milders. Im dortigen Ortskern rechts abbiegen in Richtung Oberbergtal. Nach ca. 300 Metern startet die Tour links bei der Abzweigung Richtung Bichlhof.

Parking

Direkt an der Abzweigung zum Bichlhof sind einige kostenfreie Parkplätze gelegen.

Equipment

Basic Equipment for Sledding

  • Sturdy, comfortable and waterproof hiking boots appropriate for winter use (B1+ recommended)
  • Layered, moisture wicking clothing
  • Long, warm technical socks plus liners and spares
  • Rucksack (with rain cover)
  • Water- and windproof mountaineering jacket and trousers with ankle adjustment or separate gaiters
  • Lip protection (SPF 30+)
  • Water- and windproof gloves plus thin fleece inner gloves
  • Neckwear
  • moisture wicking skull / knit cap
  • Sunglasses

Technical Equipment for Sledding

  • Sled with tow strap
  • Trail ‘spike’ crampons are useful on ascent
  • Ski Helmet recommended when sledding through heavily wooded areas
  • Ski goggles if required
