A famous peak on the border between Graubünden and Vinschgau, which is one of the most beautiful panoramic peaks in the upper Vinschgau. However, an absolute head for heights is the prerequisite for reaching the summit.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the large car park at the entrance to Schlinig, hike through the village to the cross-country skiing centre. From there you can follow the wide hiking trail no. 1 through the Schliniger valley. Past the black wall and the waterfall, you will reach the Sesvennahütte a short time later. This offers a stop for refreshments. From the Sesvennahütte, follow trail no. 5 towards the wide saddle of the Sesvennascharte. Shortly before the saddle, you will come across a beautiful Furkelsee lake with crystal-clear water. Further, down you can see another dark blue mountain lake-the “Kloanberglsee”. At the Sesvennascharte, which is rich in views, it is not uncommon to meet ibexes. Here you then descend about 80m to the Sesvenna glacier. After roping up and mounting the crampons, you can ascend via the gentle glacier terrace to the East Ridge, which is located in the saddle between Foratrida and Piz Sesvenna. Then you reach the rock level that leads to the summit with block climbing.. This tour offers a fascinating mountain experience.
