This ski tour in the Matscher Valley is especially suitable as a firn tour in spring. It is very popular and, with its well-graded slopes, is one of the easier tours. On the Pleresspitze you can enjoy a magnificent view. The mountain panorama to the north-east with the Weißkugel is particularly special.

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting from the car park at Glieshöfe (1,824 m) and following the forestry trail left of the brook until you reach Matscheralm alpine pasture. The path continues through a sparse forest to a large forest aisle, which extends up to the tree line. The route goes on over the summer trail (some markings are visible) until you reach the tree line. The terrain becomes gentle and leads across beautiful hollows rising up to the ridge of the Pleres peak. Arriving on the ridge, deposit your skis there and the summit can be reached by foot.

The descent is along the same route.
