This is a short walk through the settlement between Velturno and Snodres. Here, you will visit one of the most beautiful spots in the low mountains of the Eisacktal Valley, and the chestnut trees are just the jewels of this cultural landscape.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the bus stop at Velthurns Castle (851m) follow the westward climbing village steet, pass Ziernfeld estate and fork left by the topmost houses on to footpath no. 18. In the partly wooded valley continue uphill, the path will take you past Thalerhof farm before reaching Snodres (1,085m). St. Georg church (open daily from May to Nov) stands on the village hill and offers a wonderful panoramic view over the central Eisacktal Valley and the Dolomites. You can either take the same way back, or the slightly longer route along main street to Snodres.
