This walk dedicated to the minstrel Walther von der Vogelweide runs between Laion, Novale and Albions. In the future there will be information board placed at specific points along the route, on the life and work of this minstrel, to pass on this information to those walking through this beatiful landscape. There are several places to stop for meal or a rest along the route.

Turn-by-turn directions
At the sports area in Laion (1,085m) route no. 5 offers a lovely walk descending slightly northwards through meadows to Albions (857 m, refreshments served). Turnig south, follow the road to Hof Mair am Bach farm and there, take the signposted field path (Vogelweider Rundweg signs - trail is also called "Eselsteig" trail). Starting off in fields, the trail continues for a longer stretch through forest parhts, then you will reach the hamlet of Novale (740 m, Törggele tavern open in autumn ) with St. Katharina church and the Vogelweider Hof farm (810m). Now follow route no. 35, witch ascends alongside the farmsteads on the sunny slopes, after crossing an asphalt road, and then leads to Laion.
By road
Coming from the north you will reach our region via Munich - Kufstein - Innsbruck - Brenner - Klausen (exit Chiusa / Val Gardena), the SS Val Gardena - at the roundabout in Novale/Ried-Lajen you turn to Lajen/Laion. From here you are within a few minutes in your resort Lajen.
