From Le Cave|Grasstein to Puntleider Lake

From Le Cave (860m) follow the forest road to the farms of Puntleid (1,185m). Trail no. 15 leads through the Bergltal Valley, climbing to Berglalm mountain pasture (1,534m). There you follow the footpath on the right, twisting through the high alpine valley head up to the north foot of the Tagwaldhorn mountain and on to the ruins of Sulzenalm hut (1,931m). At a bolder, route no. 14 forks right and ascends northwards. The steep eastern slope of the Schönjoch ridge is crossed at the edge of the forest on a flat, but in parts exposed, climb northwards. You will reach the crest (2,050m) and there descend northward, to the sign 14 on the left, climbing downward on the steep western slopes through the forest up to Puntleider See (1,874m). From the lake, follow the path northwards to the more deeply-lying Puntleider Alm (1,777m, alpine hunting hut). Descend on the steep Almweg pasture trail no. 14 to Puntleid and to the starting point at the forest gate.
