Hiking Circuit through the End of the Villnösstal Valley

From the parking lot in Zannes (1,670m), take forest road no. 25 at Kaserillbach crossing through a forest clearing in Kirchwiesl, and then follow trail no. 33 to the Gampenalm mountain hut (2,062m; refreshments served). From here, continue on trail no. 35 up a steep slope passing the Schlüterhütte mountain hut (2,303m; refreshments served). Follow trail no. 35 as far as the Kreuzkofeljoch ridge (2,340m). Then take trail no. 3 south, (or trail no. 2: Dolomiten Höhenweg) over a steep, rocky slope across the mountain neck (2,421m) to the south-facing pasture. Continue west to the Medalges Alm mountain hut (refreshments served) and the nearby Kreuzjoch ridge (2,293m). From here, trail no. 6 passes over the steep western slope across several hairpin bends as far as the Tschantschenon Alm alpine pasture (1,928m, forest hut). After a short descent, the trail joins up with Adolf-Munkel-Weg trail (indications). Continue for about 1 km up to the crossroad where trail no. 36B leads to the nearby Glatschalm hut (1,912m; refreshments served). The access road takes one back to the parking lot.
