Deep in the Texelgruppe Nature Park, the ten Spronser Seen lakes are situated on a high plateau northwest of Tirolo/Dorf Tirol. Spread over 30 hectares at an altitude of 2,500 m, the mountain lakes were created by retreating glaciers.
The lakes are famous for their brilliant colors and varied sizes and depths.
Hikers reach the Spronser Seen lakes above Tirolo through a unique mountain landscape. In this barren terrain, Ibexes roam freely and marmots scuttle between the rocky outcrops.
Through the Val d'Adige (Etschtal) to Plars and to Velloi (Vellau). Continue with the chairlift to the Leiteralm.
