Turn-by-turn directions
The hike begins after the ride with the Plose gondola lift at the mountain station in Kreuztal/Valcroce (2,036 m). Follow the signs to "Brixner Höhenweg" and walk along the wide path (mark No. 30) through a beautiful Swiss stone pine forest to the forest line until you reach the Ochsenalm mountain hut (2,085 m). From the Ochsenalm follow the path (mark no. 6) which leads over the western slope to the Plosescharte wind gap (2,219 m) and over a more demanding section to the Leonharder Kreuz cross (2,365 m). The trail now leads up the rocky northern ridge until you reach the flat Telegraph summit (2,486 m). At the western edge of the summit is the panoramic table (Panoramatisch in German), where you can enjoy the view and determine the summits of this magnificent mountain world.
From the summit plateau, the wide farm road (mark no. 6), past some functional buildings and antennas, leads to the Plosehütte mountain hut (2,446 m). From the shelter of the Italian Alpine Club CAI, follow the ski slope's path and climb up a well-sloped path (mark no. 7), under the slopes of the Schönjöchl ridge (2,250 m), down a gentle slope to the mountain station of the Plose gondola lift, the starting point of the circular hike.
