To the Kassianspitze Peak in Lazfons|Latzfons

This mountain hike starts at the Kühhof above Lazfons leading to the Klausner Hütte hut and the Latzfonser Kreuz ( with the highest pilgrimage church in the Alps) and the Kassianspitze. This climb is also suited to families and children with sturdy legs.
Take the excursion bus (operating only on Wednesdays between mid-June and early November) from Barbiano via Villandro and Chiusa to the Kühhof parking area. Bookings: at the Chiusa Information Office.

From the parking area near the Kühhof farm (1,573m) follow trail no. 1 leading northwest uphill passing the Klausner Hütte hut (1,920m). Continuing westwards on trail no. 1 ascend up the ridge near the Rungger Hütten huts where the road terminates at the Plankenbach torrent. Follow the trail past (Stations of the Cross) as the trail winds up the steep slope under the mountain pine trees before reaching the Latzfonser Kreuz refuge (2,311m). Follow trail no. 9 westwards and at the fork, bear north. Follow the trail uphill through the detrital basin from the Kassiansee lake (2,469m) before reaching Kassianspitze (2,581m). Return via the same route.
