Route that offers breathtaking views of Lake Iseo, suitable for more trained cyclists.
Distance 35.2 km
The itinerary begins in Marone, where you can park your car near the town hall. Get on your bike and, after crossing the railway, go up towards Zone. The route offers breathtaking views of Lake Iseo from the very first moments. After a few bends you go along a straight stretch at the end of which, on the left, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Pyramids of Erosion, a Nature Reserve. Continue to the hamlet of Cislano, where an entirely signposted closed circuit allows you to admire the unique natural phenomenon of the Pyramids up close. Back on the bicycle, along the road that leads to Zone, turn right into a wide and easy dirt road that leads to the Croce di Marone hut. After the Malpensata hut, you will arrive at the Guglielmo di Sotto hut; the road climbs continuously and becomes more difficult due to the presence of stones that make the ground uneven. Arriving at the Guglielmo di Sopra hut, you can see the Almici hut, where the effort of the climb is immediately rewarded by the beauty of the view; on clear sunny days, in fact, you can see the Alps and the Apennines. Leaving the bicycle at the hut, you can walk to the Monument to the Redeemer. The return can be accomplished by repeating the road traveled which is now all downhill, or, upon reaching the Croce di Marone Hut, it is possible to turn left on the downhill road and, along the Opol Valley, past the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Rota and the climbing cliffs, you will reach the provincial road. Finally, turn left to return to Marone.
