The snowshoe hike from Monte Rota/Ratsberg to Melate/Mellaten offers a beatiful view over the Landro/Höhlensteintal Valley and the Lake of Dobbiaco.

IMPORTANT: Before starting any ski tour/snowshoe excursion, you must check the weather conditions and danger avalanches report, asking also experts (alpine guides etc.).

Turn-by-turn directions

From the car park at the Alpenhotel Ratsberg/Monte Rota, a sign leads to the well-marked path through the snowy forest. First a slightly uphill, then a slightly downhill snowshoe hike on the Via dei Romani/Römerweg, with the descent at Mellaten/Melate and Dobbiaco/Toblach.
