Sterzing
The Dolomieu Trail goes across six mountain pastures from the Rosskopf mountain in Sterzing / Vipiteno via Ladurns into the Pflerschtal valley. Enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Dolomites from Rosskopf and hike past the idyllic Alpine village of Valleming towards the Pflerschtal valley where Deodat de Dolomieu discovered the dolomite rock at the foot of the Tribulaun mountain.

Turn-by-turn directions
Route: the Dolomieu Trail starts at the Rosskopf cable car mountain station (1,860 m) in Sterzing / Vipiteno. We go to the left, following the marked "Dolomieu Trail", to the Telfer Almen Alpine pastures and then back again to Valleming and onwards to the Ladurns chairlift mountain station (1,770 m) in Pflerschtal Valley. From Ladurns the hike goes on to the Allriss Alm Alpine farm (1,534 m) at the head of the Pflerschtal valley and then on to the Ochsenhütten Alm Alpine farm. The hike can, of course, also be done in reverse.
Refreshments stops: Kuhalm, Ochsenalm, Sterzingerhaus, Vallleming Alpine farm village, Ladurner Alm, Allriss Alm, Ochsenhütte.
By road
From the A22 motorway exit Sterzing at the roundabout take the first exit right into the Via Giovo. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit in the Brenner road, through Vipiteno/Sterzing to the valley station of Rosskopf cable car.
