Turn-by-turn directions

Take the Vellau bus to Oberplars or hike via Mitter- and Oberplars to the Saxnerhof. The Kieneggerweg (sign) turns to the left from the Saxnerpath 26A and leads you with a steep ascent through the forest to the mountain restaurant Kienegger (1,101 metres) - just above Vellau (beautiful views). Return journey on path 26 to Vellau, then by bus to Algund centre or by chair lift to Mitterplars.

Getting there

Via the Adige Valley, take the MeBo expressway to the Algund exit.
Coming from Vinschgau, Algund is just before Merano.
