Der Krumbacher Höhenweg ist - verglichen mit dem parallel verlaufenden Mindelheimer Klettersteig - die deutlich einfachere Variante, um von der Fiderepasshütte zur Mindelheimer Hütte zu kommen. Dennoch ist auch diese nicht weniger lohnend. Hoch über dem Rappenalptal zieht sich der unschwierige Panoramaweg unter dem Zackengrat der Schafalpenköpfe entlang. Lediglich die Überschreitung der Fiderescharte zu Beginn ist etwas anspruchsvoller, aber dank Drahtseilversicherung ebenfalls problemlos zu bewältigen. Mit direktem Blick auf den Allgäuer Hauptkamm erreichen wir so bequem die Mindelheimer Hütte. Mit etwas Glück können wir unterwegs Steinböcke beobachten.
