Turn-by-turn directions

The tour begins at the mountain station of the Paolina chairlift (Paolinahütte mountain hut 2,125 m) and leads on trail [539] past the Christomannos monument up to the Rotwandhütte mountain hut (2,283 m). Head left from there, ascending sharply to the beginning of the via ferrata. Ascend via chimneys and rock towers to the Masarè peak (2,585 m). The ascent is on the path over the grassy slope heading towards the Fensterleturm tower. A signposted trail that descends to the Rotwandhütte mountain hut (wire cables, ladder) is directly next to the cliff edge and leads back to the starting point.
Alternative route: continue via the Rotwand via ferrata to the Vajolon Pass and back to the Paolinahütte mountain hut.

Difficulty: difficult (C) - only with climbing equipment, helmet, sure-footedness and Alpine experience essential
