Hike to the Latemarhütte Mountain Hut

The hike starts at Obereggen (1,550 m) with an ascent on the Oberholz chairlift, which brings the hikers to a height of 2.150 m. The “Latemar. 360°” viewing platform and the “Latemar.panorama” adventure trail ([22]) are just a few minutes from the Oberholzlift cable car mountain station. There is waiting a huge panorama for the visitors. The panoramic map with detailed letterings of the mountaintops is waiting for visitors to be explored. The Satteljoch (Feudo Pass) can be reached in one hour, after going through the “Gamsstallscharte”. Then, the hikers have a beautiful panoramic sight of the east-side of the Latemar and the mountains behind. The ascent on the rocky trail (trail [516]) to the Latemarhütte mountain hut (Rif. Torre di Pisa) (2,670 m) (1½ hours) is the most adventurous section of the hike. A delicious meal awaits the successful hikers. A pleasant descent is the reward for the difficult ascent. While returning via the northern slope into the Valsordakessel cirque and on the rocky trail on the southside (trail [18]) to the Oberholzlift mountain station, the visitors are surrounded by mountain meadows with its special flowers, herbs and animals, who create an even more alpine athmosphere. The return to Obereggen will be on on the chairlift. Afterwards, the day can be ended nicely with a refreshing summer drink.
