This route leads to the famous monument erected to pay tribute to Sissi, Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary (1837-1898) in order to commemorate her holiday in this area in 1897.

Turn-by-turn directions
Starting point is at the church of San Giuseppe at Carezza (1,630 m a.s.l.). From there path [6] leads to the guesthouse Meierei (1,532 m a.s.l.). Follow the Elisabeth route to the monument (1,560 m a.s.l.). To go back take the same path.

Getting there
Take highway's exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d'Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the left in direction to Nova Levante and continue until parking Paolina in Carezza (about 30 min. from highway toll booth). The church of San Giuseppe is very close by.
