Distance 15 km
The Gamsfeld is the largest peak of the Osterhorn group. The walk over the Neualm and the Wilder Jäger is particularly worthwhile. The route leads over green pastures, rugged rock formations and over a mountain pine field to the summit. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, such as the Dachstein Glacier, Gosaukamm and Tennengebirge. On the descent, visit the alpine huts unconditionally. You are well advised to try the homemade products, such as cheese, butter and bread.
The alpine huts are open from the end of June to September and the dairy farmers serve excellent, homemade cheese specialties.
