Destination
Turn-by-turn directions
Start driving from S. Lorenzo in Banale towards Località Promeghin and then follow the signs for Moline; from here, drive up to Deggia along a characteristic cobbled street.
Leave the car at the carpark and continue on foot along a small road on the right leading to the base of Monte Bael. From this wood-covered area walk up along a cattle track, once a track used by sleds. After half an hour, you will reach the pastures on the right side of Bael, historically used for alpine grazing and haymaking. Here, continue straight ahead through the grassy fields passing some picturesque “case da mont”, once shelters for the cattle during Spring and Autumn, until you reach the forest road that runs from Nembia to Beal and further to Monte Gazza down to the village of Ranzo. Continue on left towards Località Nembia along a sloped road which then continues on flat terrain. Pass località “Argie”; as the road gradually starts ascending, take the path on the left (SAT 613) which leads downhill, along a comfortable trail, to a small valley where it turns into a country lane leading to the fields around Deggia. Here, turn left and reach the Sanctuary of Madonna di Deggia, a place of faith dedicated to Beata Vergine Maria del Caravaggio. Continuing along the cobbled lane, you will reach the starting point of this walk.
