Sentiero del Latte starts from Fiavé, heads towards the small village of Favrio and returns to the starting point after having crossed the archaeological site with the remains of piles dating back to the Neolithic. Along the way there are small and large stables, green meadows, fields of maize and woods, some of which are a grazing ground for animals.

The villages of Fiavé and Favrio present the typical rural architecture, in particular large spaces located on the first floor of the peasant houses, which once served for the accumulation of hay and forage. The dairies, the slopes of the mountains once used for grazing, the archaeological site of Fiavé, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011, are all part of this wonderful area.

Turn-by-turn directions

The “Latte Trail” starts from the square of Fiavè, heads north Don Lorenzo Guetti street, passing by two historic buildings that in the past hosted the social dairy. Walk along the provincial road until you reach state highway 421, cross the main road and take the road that goes towards the village of Favrio. Continue towards the church of San Biagio and walk along the road that leads to a particularly panoramic point, from which we can admire the entire valley. Continuing along the path, enter the woods towards the houses of Favrio but before arriving in the village, turn left, taking a panoramic path parallel to the main road but situated further upstream. Follow the stretch of path near the stream until you reach a large meadow. Once at the bottom of it, return to the country road and, heading to the left, northwards, you arrive again on the state road 421, at the site of "Rudel". Here go along the state road and cross it to reach the archaeological site of Fiavé. Leaving the small Carera lake with the remains of piles on the left, take the wooden footbridge on the right that allows you to cross the wetland and that leads to the Fiavè cemetery. From here, following the main road that goes towards the center of the village and passing in front of the Pile dwelling Museum, you return to the starting point.

 

 

Getting there

Da Ponte Arche (Comano Terme) seguire le indicazioni per Fiavè. Sulla statale 421 al bivio, prendere la strada a destra che porta al centro del paese, alla chiesa parrocchiale di San Sebastiano.
