Destination
Turn-by-turn directions
The walnut trail starts behind Santa Croce’s town hall. Lined with centuries-old walnut trees, it reaches the town of Bivedo, following in some parts the Stations of the Cross. In Bivedo, reach the church and, after crossing the main road leading to Larido, continue walking down for a few hundred metres until you join on the right a country lane leading to a nursery called Confraternita della Noce del Bleggio where saplings are grown and tree grafting is practiced. Continue ahead and, after passing a farm, you will see on the left a lane running downhill through fields dotted with walnut trees. Continue on this lane towards Marcè, cross the main road (strada provinciale) and arrive in Cavrasto. Here, after passing the church square and a group of rural houses, you will come to the main road. Cross the road and descend into a walnut tree plantation. Follow the signs to find the path. Pass a shrine and continue for Maton. Here, follow the trail to the right through the crop fields and continue on the road for Santa Croce. Pass near the church and after crossing the road walk along alongside the Santa Croce monument to return to the starting point of this walk.
