Lez "Dria al Foss" from Cavareno to the lakes of Ruffrè
Hiking trail
· Val di Non
Another walk that follows one of the ancient irrigation channels of Val di Non. The gentle slope and arrival at one of the evocative lakes of Ruffrè make this walk suitable for everyone.
easy
Distance 6.5 km
Lez "Dria al Foss" connects the village of Cavareno to the lakes of Ruffrè. The path has recently been maintained and old-style seats and fences have been installed. The path is completely flat and apart from a short stretch at the start it weaves into the woods full of pine and beech trees and cushions of heather. It is immersed in the wood and therefore pleasant in summer.
Author’s recommendation
It is definitely worth stopping off at the charming Ruffrè lakes. There is a small restaurant here, Bait del Pizgagn, and the Mas da la Val farm hotel. There is also a play area in a large field near the lakes.

Turn-by-turn directions
The walk starts near the wood in the upper part of the village of Cavareno. You can get here by car and park near the picnic area at the crossroads between via Italie and via Larsetti. Alternatively, if you don’t mind a little climb through the historic centre of Cavareno, you can leave the car in the village and proceed on foot from the square taking via Alpino, via Larseti and via Italia. The path heads into the pine and beech wood. You need to follow the clearly marked cart track which in some points gets narrower against the rock. The white and red signs display number 527 but it’s impossible to get lost as the path continues along the flat land without meeting any forks until the Ruffrè lakes. After a pleasant break at the lakes you walk back along the same path.
