Val di Non seen from a whole new perspective! This excursion begins on the calm waters of the immense Lake Santa Giustina with views of the Brenta Dolomites, over Cles Castle and the rows of apple orchards. As you gradually approach the canyon, the apple orchards make way for the Groppello vineyards and a glimpse of the "scaglia rossa", a strip of sandstone rock with a characteristic reddish hue. Inside the canyon, the passages are so narrow that they barely let the kayak through. So proceed slowly and take your time to admire the rocky formations, the spontaneous vegetation and the brilliant colours of the games of light and water.
The most spectacular moment of the day is without a doubt midday, when the sun is high and lights up the deep gorge of the canyon.

The water level varies greatly depending on the season, which is why it is not always possible to make your way to the bottom of the canyon where the Novella stream joins the lake. There are segments with tree trunks across it and with extremely narrow passages: if these are not submerged by water, you will find it impossible to proceed.
Tips and hints
If you don’t have the equipment and prefer to venture with a guide, the Parco Fluviale Novella and X-Rafting Val di Sole associations organise kayaking trips and Canadian canoe excursions in the gorges of Novella canyon.
From the shore of the lake at the foot of the town of Revò, put out into the deep and head towards the left to enter the evident creek. The route is initially quite wide, with a series of clearings until you reach the start of the narrow canyon. Here, proceed with care because the passages are extremely narrow between the two rock faces of the canyon. What’s more, make sure the water level is high enough to get past any tree trunks that may be stuck or any really narrow passages.
If the water level allows it, you should be able to reach the deepest point in the canyon, where the crystal-clear waters of the Novella stream flow into the lake.
Go back the way you came.

From Revò in Val di Non, turn into the descent starting near Casa Campia. To reach the shores of the lake, proceed with care downhill along inter-estate roads between the apple orchards, following the wooden signs depicting a drop of water.
You’ll find a small car park at the bottom of the descent. If the car park is full, it is difficult to manoeuvre back up, so we advise you to stop the car before the final ramp and descend on foot to make sure there is room to park.
There is a car park with approximately 5 parking spaces about 50 metres from the shore of the lake.
