In the smithy in Prè the tradition of the ciuaröi lives still. The ciuaröi, hob-nail smiths, are craftsmen who can produce the broche, a kind of hob-nails typical to Valle di Ledro.
Before the introduction of gum, hob-nails were put under shoes to make them waterproof and resistant. Such was their importance, that men able to produce them were exempt from military service.
The smithy is closed to the public, except for guided visits.
Open for guided visits or on request for groups.
