Easy walk from Malga Trat to Rifugio Pernici via Bocca di Trat. The route unfolds on dirt road and broad path. The area of Trat served as battleground during the Great War. Rifugio Pernici was built as barracks for officials of the Austrian Army. Some wartime fortifications are still visible a bit further along the path.
Author’s recommendation
At the malga it’s possible to buy the products of the alpine dairy: cheese, butter and juice made with mountain flowers and berries. The typical cuisine of Trentino is ideal for regaining the lost energies. Polenta with spezzatino, strangolapreti, canederli, strudel…

Turn-by-turn directions
Follow the dirt road from the car park to the malga. Walk by the malga and take the forestry road up to Bocca Trat, where the SAT 412 path to Rifugio Pernici begins.

Getting there
Exit the A22 motorway at Rovereto Sud - Lago di Garda. Follow the SS240 della Val di Ledro to Bezzecca and turn towards Val di Concei. From Lenzumo follow the signs for Rifugio Nino Pernici. Keep on the asphalt road (later gravel) that runs up the side of the mountain and leads to the car park. Further options
