Tremalzo once served as pasture ground for all the villages of the upper Valle di Ledro. Each used to have its own malga. Malga Bezzecca and Malga Tiarno di Sopra are still in function, whereas Malga Tiarno di Sotto has been turned into a the Monsignor Ferrari Visitor Centre.

At the malga it’s possible to buy the products of the alpine dairy: cheese, butter and yogurt. The typical cuisine of Trentino is ideal for regaining the lost energies. Polenta with spezzatino, strangolapreti, canederli, strudel…
