Circular route that runs along the border between Trentino and Lombardy, once the last frontier of the Habsburg Empire, as is testified by the military fortifications that are to be seen along the way.

Monte Carone dominates Lake Garda from the west and offers a spectacular view over it. The way back goes through the valley of Leano, a village up in the mountains which only comes to life during the summer. It once served as a pasture ground.
