Monte Carone dominates Lake Garda from the west and offers a spectacular view over it. The way back goes through the valley of Leano, a village up in the mountains which only comes to life during the summer. It once served as a pasture ground.
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.
Follow the SAT 421 path from Pré to the chapel of the Madonna del Cinale. Turn right onto the path leading to the meadows of Cadrione and to Bocca dei Fortini. Turn left towards the top of Monte Carone. Part of the path is marked by stone steps dating back to the First World War. Take the path towards Malga Vil and then turn onto the SAT 421 path, that goes through the valley of Leano and leads back to Pré.
