The top of Ledro - Cima Pari summit tour

This beautiful half day trip in the Garda Trentino Region shows you the best of nature and history in the Ledro area. Follow the signs from Lenzumo to Rif. Pernici and an asphalt road leads you to a car park below Malga Trat after 6km. From Malga Trat, you follow the "route of the cows". You bump into cows, donkeys at the beginning, then as the route gets steeper, and leads into the forest, the animals disappear as well. Ascend to the ridge of Monte Carét at 1800m, from where you will immediately see Cima Pari. First you descend a bit to Bocca Saval which is the saddle between the ridges, if you need refreshment, you can detour to Malga Saval. Start climbing to the top of the mountain, which you can reach after a demanding 40-50 minutes climb. looking back to the opposite ridge reveals nicely the line of First World War bunkers. From the top you have amazing views on the surrounding valleys and mountains, you have the complete skyline from Lake Garda to the top of the Brenta Dolomites. The descent leads entirely on a First World War path, you can even bump into the ruins of an Austro-Hungarian medical hospital from the War. This trail is very exciting, at some places it requires concentration, as the valley on the right is very (!) steep, there is no safety rope besides, and the trail is a max 50 cm wide. A good hour's walk leads you to Rifugio Pernici, which is a nice refreshment stop, both for food and drinks. From here, it's a maximum one hour until you get back to the car park on a forestry road.
