Cycling route running through the whole of Valle di Ledro, from Lake Garda to Lake Ampola via Lake Ledro.
This route passes through an inaccessible area and is therefore closed.
Gradually, as one pedals on, the surrounding landscape changes, the Mediterranean scenery gives way to more alpine surroundings, holm-oaks and cypresses are replaced by firs and pines and later by water lilies and rushes as one reaches Lake Ampola.
For the Ponale road: where fences are missing, families with children should be particularly cautious. Bikers must limit their speed and be aware of pedestrians. The road is unpaved.
Between Prè and Molina: the road is rather steep and partly paved with concrete.
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.
Follow the Ponale road from Riva del Garda up to the entrance to the last tunnel. This used to be the road connecting Lake Ledro to Lake Garda. To avoid pedalling on the main road cross the bridge to Pregasina and turn right into a dirt road leading to the village of Prè. Enter the village and go straight ahead past the church. Follow the rather steep asphalt (later concrete) road. From Molina pedal along the Ponale stream and then along the southern shore of Lake Ledro, passing by Pur. From the Circolo Vela (i.e. sailing association) on there is a paved cycling path which is almost flat and leads to Lake Ampola.
