Sitting on the terrace of the Malga Corno you can gaze over a sweeping view of the Val di Fiemme mountains, from Corno Bianco and Corno Nero to the Pale di San Martino and the Lagorai chain. We are in the Monte Corno Nature Park, just below the peak (an easy climb). This protected area has a wealth of footpaths and mountain bike trails, and it is here that the Magnificent Community of the Val di Fiemme refurbished an old mountain farm and the refuge. Open From June to early November Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks The walk to the summit of Monte Corno, 1,781 metres above sea level, takes 30 minutes (difficulty E) with only a small vertical height gain. The nearby nature reserves of Lago Bianco and Lago Nero can be easily reached from the refuge on foot or by bike.

By road

It’s possible to drive to the refuge: take the Strada della Fricca road and turn right just after the Albergo Al Bosco 5 km after Vattaro; or you can walk there from the Rifugio La Madonnina (closed) along the easy “dei Catalani” forest track (1 hour, difficulty E).
