It is an ancient route used since 1800 by the inhabitants of Grigno and Tezze, who are called "grignati and tedoti" by the locals. It takes up to the green plateau characterised by numerous shepherd's huts and populated in the summer season by a huge number of cows.

Do not forget to buy some cheese produced in the alpine huts of the Marcesina plateau.

Difficulty E: Excurionist route

From the hamlet of Selva, close to the rest area, starts the path that slopes up the Marcesina Plateau following mule tracks and ancient paths used by soldiers. The last part of the route becomes more and more plain and crosses a beautiful pine forest. Out of the forest there is "Pria della Messa" and after a 10 minutes walk it is possible to get to Barricata Alpine Hut.

Getting there

From the Valsugana highway 47, take the exit for Grigno-Altopiano della Marcesina and then follow the directions for Selva di Grigno.
